CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 09:00

Report from Eldey: This morning was sunny but a strong northern wind cooled us down quite a bit. The tour took us far out into the bay in search of marine mammals but our patience and valiance was eventually rewarded with a humpback whale! We got to see multiple fluke dives and a pec slap from this individual as it seemed to be feeding in the area. After some time with this whale, we started heading back home and right after we set off we could see it tail-slapping in the distance. What a great encounter!

CLASSIC WHALE WATCHING | 13:00

Report from Eldey: This afternoon we started our tour with the sun shining and the beautiful snowed mountains ahead of us. The bay looked gorgeous under these conditions. As we sailed out, we encountered a lot of different species of seabirds. We all worked together to find these amazing animals. It didn't take us very long to find a minke whale. However, this wasn't the most friendly individual and we could only see a glimpse of its back. We continued our journey trying to find a more social one but we were not very lucky. However, because the tour didn't meet the expectations, we gave complimentary tickets to everyone. We went back to port enjoying the view, and spotting different species of the seabirds that can be found in Iceland.

CLASSIC WHALE WATCHING | 17:00

Report from Eldey: We started our sail with a bit of wind but very clear skies for this early evening sail.We headed into the bay in the direction of Akranes and it only took 40 minutes until we spotted a humpback whale. The whale was traveling around the area and showed us quite a few time its beautiful fluke as it went for deeper dives. We followed this individual inits travel for a while before we explored a bit more the area for maybe something else. After a while we turned around and spotted another blow a few miles off the first humpback that appeared to possibly be the same individual humpback. We saw this one for another good 20 minute and before we left we even saw a peduncle throw. Amazing. It was our time to get home, so after this good bye we sailed in the evening sun toward the harbour.
