CLASSIC WHALE WATCHING | 09:00

Report from Eldey: This morning we experienced all kinds of weather in the bay. We started with a light rain that was coming and going during the whole tour, but we were packed with overalls and rain jackets and we were ready to go! We sailed out in the bay, looking for cetaceans and spotting many seabirds on the way. After over and hour of sailing, we spotted a big blow! This belonged to a humpback whale, that was very calm at the surface. It was always going for shallow dives and coming very close to the boat! I couldn't even see it anymore cause it was extremely close. Carefully, we watched this individual for a while more and then when it showed the fluke going for a deep dive, we started our long way back home. We were all very happy with the sighting even though it took a while to find it. Totally worth it!

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 13:00

Report from Eldey: This afternoon when we headed out we were greeted with a mix of drizzle and chilly breeze, but then some sunshine! As we headed out into the bay the wind was gusting upon us! After traveling a bit far out into the bay at our 11 o'clock suddenly there was a big splash! Upon further inspection, we were greeted by a humpback whale! This individual gave us quite the show today with many playful behaviours! We got to see about three breeches with perfect viewing! We also were treated to pectoral slapping, peduncle throwing and tail slapping! We were even shown several fluke dives providing us with a spectacular view of its individual characteristics! After such a great performance, we sailed onward and got to admire some residential birdlife! Fantastic tour!
