Report from Eldey: It was raining just before the tour, but according to the forecast it would be dry and there should be some gaps in the clouds. To our lucky surprise, the sky cleared up even more than we expected, so we could see quite a lot of stars as the night progressed. We could see that there was a strong aurora activity on the Leirvogur magnetic observatory and we were able to witness it through our cameras, but unfortunately the lights were almost invisible to our eyes. We kept hoping the green would get brighter while we stayed in the calm shelter of Viðey, but we could only enjoy the apparently abundant lights through our lenses so we wanted to offer our passengers complimentary tickets for the opportunity to try our luck again on another night to witness this miracle with our own eyes.
