CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 09:00

Report from Eldey: We layered up with our raingear and goggles and headed out into the bay! We did not have to travel too far before we spotted a big blow from one Humpback whale!! This whale then started to treat us right away with some pectoral slaps and it was wonderful to see those long fins out of the water! When we got closer we were able to admire their fluke pattern as it did a nice dive below. We were able to see multiple surface sequences and got to see that fluke not once, not twice, but four times!!! It even showed us some more pectoral slaps which was great to see their fins nice and close! What a lucky show we had. When it was time to make it back to port we got to see three of our harbor porpoises! They were elusive as usual so although we did not stop they gave us multiple surface sequences which was wonderful! What a great start to our day.

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 11:00

Report from Hufsula : We sailed out form Reykjavik port with course to the open waters. It did took a long time until we spotted a humpback whale that was quit big and playful. We stayed with it for long and said goodbye to us with a nice fluke dive and we stared heading to the port. Thought on our way we spotted at least 4 white beaked dolphins .They were really playful and breaching often .What a wonderful day.

CLASSIC WHALE WATCHING | 13:00

Report from Eldey: This afternoon we sailed out into the bay surrounded by foggy clouds. We got ourselves some nice hot chocolate and dressed up in warm overalls to brace the winds, ready for any sighting that would come our way. We did not have to wait for long until we got indications that there was something interesting close by. A faint blow, a splash - it was a humpback whale! This individual gave us quite a show, rolling around on the surface, showing both its large pectoral fins and nice fluke print. We stayed for quite some time and observed as the whale took some nice deep dives, before it was time to head back to the harbor again. We continued looking out for any indications of cetaceans on our way back, and suddenly a pod of six playful white beaked dolphins appeared. We stopped and got a pretty good viewing as they made several jumps out of the water. As we reached the harbor again, everyone was very satisfied and grateful about what we had seen.

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 15:00

Report from Hafsulan: We sailed and right after the rain stopped. We went straight towards the open waters and it didn't took a long until we spotted 5 white beaked dolphins that were happily cruising around as. We left them in peace and continued on our journey in search of something bigger. From afar we saw a blow in the distance. As we approached a minke whale surfaced twice. We let her be and carried on toward the larger creature. It turned out to be a humpback whale . We stayed with her for quit a bit and it said goodbye to as with a nice high fluke dive.
