CLASSIC WHALE WATCHING | 09:00
Report from Eldey: We had calm seas this morning with slightly cloudy skies and a soft western wind. We had an incredible morning tour where we saw no less than 4 humpback whales! The first one we encountered was a familiar fluke, a whale we call Bubbles, an active whale that we've seen around quite often lately. Not too far away we spotted a second blow. This whale then continued to give us quite the show with 2 breaches and a bunch of pec slaps! Once it settled down we moved on to find a third and even fourth humpback, which swam towards eachother for a close encounter. After all this spectacle, it was time for us to sail back to Reykjavik, still amazed by this morning's incredible sightings!

Report from Eldey: This afternoon we started the tour with a very clear sky and slight wind. However, as we sailed out of the port, it started to get a bit more wavy. It didn't take us very long to find an amazing humpback whale. It wasn't amazing just because how beautiful it was, but also for its behaviour. We spot it because it was doing some tail slaps, when we got closer, it slowly combined the tail slaps with pec slaps. When we thought it couldn't get any better it breached not only one but 3 times. It was a very social whale and it let us stay with her for quite some time before heading back to port.

CLASSIC WHALE WATCHING | 17:00
Report from Eldey: We left the Reykjavik harbour headed into choppy waters with mild wind and sunshine peaking through the clouds. We headed out deep into the bay, where we found or first humpback whale of the evening tour. This whale seemed rather shy and calm, so when we spotted another blow on the horizon, we almost headed there right away. But not so! As we were about to head away, this whale decided to treat us to a display of several tail slaps! So we stayed a while, and then moved on to the second humpback sighting on the tour. This individual seemed quite curious, as it came very close to the boat, treating our guests to a great close-up view. Following these amazing encounters, and since the waves where becoming more challenging to handle, we headed back to the harbour, rather satisfied with the amazing sightings we experienced.
