CLASSIC WHALE WATCHING | 09:00
Report from Eldey: We went to sea in some beautiful weather. With a slight wind from the south we went into the direction of Hvalfjörður. Almost at the entrance of the fjord we came across the first humpback whale. We spend some time with the animal and it showed some nice fluke dives. Since it was quite early in the tour, we decided to move on to search for more cetaceans. A good decision, as it turned out. Just minutes later we saw the blow of another humpback whale in the distance. So we went closer and had a good look at the animal traveling along. We left this whale as well after some time to get a look at third Humpback whale that surfaced not far away. Again we spend some time with the animal to get a good look at it. As it got to the time to return, we made our way back to Reykjavik. But the day ends in the harbor and so to all our excitement we came across a huge pod of around 50 white beaked dolphins that surrounded our boat. we could not resist to stay ab bit with them until it really was time to say goodbye. 3 humpback whales and around 50 white beaked dolphins, what a morning!

CLASSIC WHALE WATCHING | 13:00
Report from Eldey: Today the sun shone on our faces from the beginning to the end of the tour, making most of us stay outside enjoying the breeze! We started heading to Hvalfjordur, as we had seen the whales in the morning close to this area. And bingo! Before we got there, we spotted our first humpback whale there, the big blow giving it away. This whale was very calm, just resting at the surface. Beautiful and massive, we watched this whale go for shallow dives while probably taking a nap. Then, we continued and we spotted 2 more humpbacks in the fjord. They were both quite fast, and it was bit difficult to keep on track, but we got to see it plenty of times before heading to another area, since there were some boats around. So on the way home, we spotted a 4th humpback! Right before we got to this one, it breached! The big splash was very surprising! Right after the breach, a head slap. We were all very focused on what this whale would do next, as it showed the beautiful fluke before it went for a dive. Then, we started heading back to Reykjavik, enjoying the views and the sun!
