CLASSIC WHALE WATCHING l 09:00

Report from Hafsúlan: We went out to find the whales of Faxafóí. We made our way through the waves and spotted the blow of a humpback whale in the distance. We went closer to get a good look at the animal and it showed some amazing fluke dives. At one point it got really close to the boat and we got a good impression at this giant in full length.  Then another humpback surfaced nearby and so we had two humpbacks around our boat at the same time. Even thought the waves gave all they had to put us off, we had a great tour with some awesome sightings.

CLASSIC WHALE WATCHING | 11:00

Report from Eldey: Despite the grey skies and a stiff breeze, we headed out with high hopes — and the whales didn’t disappoint. Our first encounter was with a minke whale that surfaced a few times, giving us a brief look before disappearing beneath the waves. Not long after, we found a lone humpback whale actively feeding. We were able to stay with it for a while and watch as it moved through the water, occasionally diving and surfacing with power and grace. The most exciting moment came when we spotted three more humpbacks feeding together nearby. Seeing them coordinate and surface side by side was truly impressive — a rare and memorable sight that stole the show.

CLASSIC WHALE WATCHING l 13:00

Report from Elding I: We headed out in very windy conditions and the sea was definitely rough. However, this did not affect our sightings. We spotted spouts in the distance, and as we got closer this was 3 humpback whales swimming together. There were a lot of birds following them, so there must have been a lot of food around. Another humpback whale joined and was accompanied by a pod of around 5 white beaked dolphins and one of them started to roll on its back and slapping its pectorial fins. More humpback whales where spotted in the distance and we can estimate about 7 humpback whales today. A very good tour!

CLASSIC WHALE WATCHING / 15:00

Report from Eldey: We sailed out from Reykjavik port under clear skies and calm seas with course towards the open waters. On our way we spotted a minke whale. We didn´t stayed for long with it because we could sea many blows some miles away form us. Indeed was four humpback whales feeding in pears on really close distance. We stead with them enjoying the show until the time was up. On our way back we came across two more humpback whales and even a breaching minke whale that let us speechless making our tour unforgettable .

CLASSIC WHALE WATCHING | 20:30

Report from Eldey: We bundled up and headed out into the sunshine! There were many flocks of birds actively feeding so we knew the food was plentiful this evening. Not too far out into the bay we spotted the blow of one humpback whale! This whale was going places, and gave us a really nice fluke dive before it was off again! So we let that humpback swim into the sun and shortly after we saw another blow! We had found another solitary humpback whale! This whale also showed us their fluke and then was off but alas we saw a third blow in the distance. When we went to investigate we realized it was five humpback whales, luck was on our side this evening!  These whales provided us with multiple surface sequences as they were feeding collaboratly and coming to the surface in unison. Then, out of the blue, a breach!  What a wonderful surprise it was.
