CLASSIC WHALE WATCHING | 09:00
report from Eldey: We sailed out into a misty bay with moderate wind and waves. We once more ventured deep into Hvalfjörður in search of the bay's amazing cetaceans. Not too far in we spotted a pod of 3 harbour porpoises carelessly swimming by in front of us. motivated by this sighting we kept sailing onwards, but sadly the fjord seemed deserted at this time of day so we had to eventually sail back towards Reykjavik. Luckily we had a nice cup of hot chocolate to keep us warm as we face the winds. Before we arrived back to port, we did hand out complimentary tickets to all passengers so they get another chance at spotting this bay's fabulous wildlife.

CLASSIC WHALE WATCHING | 13:00
Report from Eldey: This afternoon even though we still had a bit of swell, the sun decided to appear and the sky cleared out, so the visibility was way better! We sailed out into the center of the bay this time, and after about 45 min of sailing, we spotted a big splash in the distance, close to a few fishing boats! It has done it again and started waving the pectoral fin. When we got closer, we spotted many flocks of birds and not one humpback whale, but 3! There were two swimming side by side and one close to them. They came very close to our boat and we could even hear the loud blow. Amazing sighting!! We were so happy tracking these whales and the birds around. They were very fast feeding, going for deep dives and coming back up in no time. The birds were also going crazy and we all watched happily before we needed to started heading back home. What a way to celebrate the 25th birthday of Elding!
