At Elding, sustainability is a key part of our values - not just at sea, but on land too. That’s why we’re excited to announce our collaboration with Flöff, the first textile upcycling initiative in Iceland, to repurpose retired overalls that have reached the end of their life aboard our tours.
Instead of ending up in landfill, these textiles are being creatively transformed into unique and practical bags. The first batch of bags is already completed and will soon be available in our souvenir shop at the Old Harbour in Reykjavík.
This initiative was developed as part of Elding’s participation in the CE4RT programme (Circular Economy for Regenerative Tourism), which aims to reduce waste, extend product life cycles, and support more responsible tourism practices.
We are proud to support local innovation through this partnership, and hope our visitors will enjoy this new product that blends Icelandic design with environmental responsibility.
Stay tuned for more circular creations - and be sure to stop by our shop to see the bags for yourself!
