Easter is truly special time here in Iceland. Over the years we have noticed that more and more travellers decide to spend their Easter vacation in Iceland. The locals also use this time well for travels, recreation, meeting friends and families and of course enjoy some delisous Easter Eggs.
Traditional Easter holidays in Iceland are from Holy Thursday until Easter Monday (28 March to 1 April 2013). If you are in town you should prepare yourself for shops and restaurants being closed some of these days, but don't worry there is still plenty to do around town. Visit Reykjavík has taken to gether a good list of opening hours for Easter so we recommend you taking a good look at that list.
We have decided to start our summer schedule on Monday with daily departures at 9:00 and 13:00. The last days have been absolutely amazing so we are really expecting a lot of fun around the Easter holidays. The weather forecast is also looking good for the coming days so this is a highly recommended adventure.
We also run the Viðey ferry according to schedule, on weekends at 13:15, 14:15 and 15:15. On Saturday, 30 March we offer a fun Easter egg hunt on the island so those wo have the time should check that out. On Monday 25 March and Tuesday 26 March the last Imagine Peace Tours of the season will be run at 20:00 from Skarfabakki.
Happy Easter everyone and we hope to see you around!
